By metro, tram and bus

The Castle gives these distances on foot: 200 m from M1 Cairoli, 240 m from M2 Lanza, 190 m from the Cairoli stop of tram 1, and 150 m from the Lanza M2 stop of trams 2, 4, 12 and 14. Another page of the Comune lists a slightly different set of tram and bus lines, so check ATM (atm.it) for what runs today.

By train

Milano Cadorna FN, the Trenord station, is about 300–400 m from the Castle. It is also a stop on the M1 and M2 metro lines.

From Malpensa airport

Take the Malpensa Express train to Milano Cadorna. According to Wikipedia, read on 24 October 2026, the journey takes 37 minutes from Terminal 1 and 43 minutes from Terminal 2, with a train about every 30 minutes, and since 23 January 2026 the lines are called RE54 (Cadorna) and RE51 (Centrale). We could not confirm current timetables or fares: check Trenord.

From Linate airport

Metro M4 links Linate to San Babila in 12 minutes, according to Wikipedia. At San Babila change to M1 towards Cairoli: the Castle’s nearest M1 stop is three stops later, after Duomo and Cordusio (our count from the station list). We could not confirm a route from Bergamo Orio al Serio to the Castle.

By car

The area in front of the fountain is pedestrian and the Castle is inside the ZTL and Area C zones. There are two spaces for badge holders along the square and two in Via Quintino Sella. We could not confirm recommended car parks.

On foot, around the Castle

These are distances on the map, not walking times.

Parco Sempione borders the Castle. According to the Comune di Milano it is open from 6:00 to 24:00 from April to September and from 6:00 to 22:00 from October to March.
